As wax dissolves in oil above 40°C, crude oil from pressing or solvent extraction typically contains wax impurities.
• Common wax content: Corn germ oil: 0.01%~0.04%、Sunflower oil: 0.06%~0.2%、Rice bran oil: 1%~5% (increases with husk content);
• Purpose of dewaxing: Removes wax via low-temperature crystallization to enhance oil clarity, digestibility, and taste while reclaiming wax for industrial use.
• Scientific principle: Requires ≤30°C to strengthen ester-bond polarity in wax molecules, inducing crystallization into large separable grains and increasing oil-wax interfacial tension for efficient separation.
